Cairo, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Royal mummies are shown to the public starting from Sunday in the newly-opened National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Cairo.

The mummies were moved in the evening of April 3 from the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo to the NMEC in a remarkable parade known as "The Pharaoh's Golden Parade." The Royal Mummies' Hall of the NMEC is specially designed to display the mummies belonging to kings and queens who ruled ancient Egypt over 3,000 years ago.
