Jon Rahm withdrew from this week's The American Express on Monday, according to GolfChannel.com.

The reason for Rahm's withdrawal was not provided by the PGA Tour, and he was replaced in the field by Brandon Hagy.

The second-ranked Rahm was the pre-tournament favorite, offered at 600 by PointsBet. The Spaniard tied for seventh at the Sentry Tournament of Champions earlier this month and did not play in last week's Sony Open.

Rahm has made three career starts at The American Express at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif., with his best finish a solo sixth place in 2019. He has six top-10 finishes in his past seven tournaments dating back to his win at the BMW Championship in the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

With Rahm out of the field for The American Express, Patrick Cantlay is the new betting favorite by PointsBet, where he is listed at 1200 ahead of Patrick Reed (1600) and Scottie Scheffler (1800).
