Pitso Mosimane has thanked Al Ahly for showing faith in him after leading the side to CAF Champions League success.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss joined the Egyptian giants this season and it didn't take long for him to make his mark at the club.
Al Ahly claimed their ninth Champions League title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Zamalek on Friday with Magdy Afsha netting in the 88th minute.
Mosimane led the Brazilians to victory over Zamalek in the same competition back in 2016 and is delighted with his most recent achievement.
He was reported by FARPost as saying: "We respect Zamalek. The Cairo Derby is not decided by whoever plays better, but who wins.
"All respect to Shikabala and the Zamalek coach who did a great job and made us struggle to play well. Zamalek put pressure on us and I told my players at half-time that we are not playing well.
"In the second half, I found that Zamalek began to collapse, starting from their goalkeeper, so I told the players that they should press up the field.
"I thank the Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib for putting his faith in me as well as the Sundowns' president for giving me the chance to achieve my dream.
"I also thank the Al Ahly fans for their support. We have the Egypt Super Cup, the CAF Super Cup, and the Egypt Cup and we want to win them all."
