It was a bloody day Sunday in Iraq as dozens of people died in a blaze of attacks around the country, and the death toll of U.S. troops killed there rose to 4,000.
Thirteen Iraqi soldiers met their deaths, and more than 40 were wounded, when a fuel tanker driven by a suicide bomber and loaded up with explosives, crashed into an army base in Mosul in northern Iraq early on Sunday morning.
A U.S. military statement issued Monday said a roadside bomb killed four U.S. soldiers in southern Baghdad Sunday. The casualties raise the U.S. military death toll in Iraq during the past five years to 4,000. The statement said at least one coalition soldier was wounded in the bombing.
Elsewhere, twenty three Iraqis out shopping were gunned down in a hail of bullets at a Baghdad market from gunmen in cars passing by. Seven were killed and 16 seriously wounded.
Another 15 people were killed, including eight civilians, in rocket and mortar attacks on Baghdad's Green Zone.
At least five people died when a suicide bomber struck a lineup outside a gas station in the Shula district of Baghdad, police said.
A roadside bomb killed five Iraqi soldiers close to the city of Kirkuk, and at least 3 people died when a suicide car bomber drove his vehcile into the house of a tribal leader near Samara.
Separately, the U.S. military says seventeen insurgents have been killed and 30 detained in weekend raids across Iraq.
It says the deadliest incursion was an operation Sunday targeting a suspected suicide bombing network east of Baqouba that killed twelve armed men.
The military says those killed in the raid were insurgents, including 6 who had shaved their bodies apparently in preparation for suicide operations.

The insurgents — the terrorists — the killers eventually get caught by the US but still more are spawned.Is there an answer ? The US use to think there was ....I have an answer but its not for puplication.

The real infidels live in the country who chose to invade Iraq without any reason. They are the people who should get converted to the peace loving Islam. These extremists are the enemies of Islam and the world.
Do Not forget the conflict in Ireland when all those believing in corrupt religion were out there killing each other. Mr ONE ANSWER believe me Islam will prevail and ONLY Islam will bring peace back to this Universe. America is dead not only Socially, economically but also spiritually. They sing GOD but dont know GOD!!!! With Gods recognition they would not have created the present Havoc & choes everywhere. As I speak they are paying heavy price and shall continue to pay through their nose.

Islam is a cult of death worshippers.
Just look at what Muslims do to each other and people of other faiths all over the world!
Islam is as bloody handed as any other religion and in the modern sense of it the most bloody handed of them all.
