Hamas and Fatah agree to resume talks
Middle East News.Net Sunday 23rd March, 2008
Leaders from Hamas and its rival Fatah movement have agreed in Yemen to resume talks over the Palestinian territories on April 5th.
The dialogue between the two movements was severed after Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip and routed President Mahmoud Abbas' security forces in mid-June last year.
The clauses of the Yemeni initiative are expected to be discussed within the next few days.
Since Wednesday, delegations from rival Abbas' Fatah and Hamas have been engaged in dialogue in Yemen in an attempt to resolve an internal Palestinian conflict that reached its peak in June 2007.
Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has presented a seven-point initiative to leaders of Hamas and Fatah.
He suggested a reversion to the pre-June 2007 situation and holding early presidential and legislative elections.

Hamas and Fatah agree to resume talks
What’s the use of holding more elections? If Hamas gets voted back in, do you think the Yanks and their lackeys are going to entertain that? Israel for one will step up their aggression under the pretext that they are chasing “terrorists”, newly elected Hamas officials will get assasinated in their beds, the only success there will ever be in this conflict is if Israel withdraws to their former borders and give the occupied lands back to the Palestinians, and do you think that will ever happen? You know the answer to that already!!Salaam Alaikum
